Ceiling mounting has the advantage of preventing the hammock from tipping sideways, as it only sways gently, meaning there is no danger - even if the child is sitting up - as it can hold onto the sturdy wooden frame and support itself.
Tip: Hang the hammock close to the ground and place soft padding underneath for additional prodection. The child can then later climb in and out of the hammock as it wishes.
