With hammocks it is the same as with so many things: pioneers in this regard, who brought such an everyday companion into their home or garden decades ago, were initially laughed at and labeled as exotic. In the meantime, however, the world has moved on - many people have long since learned to appreciate and love hammocks. They enjoy spending time in it - rocking, relaxing, daydreaming, soaking up the sun or cuddling. And they no longer want to be without these products in their lives. 1.    Regionality: Regionality is immensely important to us: We consciously rely on production in Austria, more precisely in the Mühlviertel, and not on Asian imports. We also strive to source raw materials as regionally as possible and to reduce transport to a minimum. The ash wood for our products only takes around two hours from the sawmill to our factory. When it comes to yarns, we use certified fibers (GOTS and ÖKOTEX) from an as European area as possible, such as Greece, where possible. And when it comes to purchasing accessories – ropes, lacing, cushions, etc. – we work with many regional companies that are based in the district. Added to this is the fact that most of our customers come from Austria and nearby Germany. This means you get high-quality and long-lasting hammocks that are even built not far from your home.

2.    Handwork: From the fine, thin thread to the finished hammock - everything is made by hand. This also sets us apart from competitors who, for example, integrate far more automated processes.

3.    Longevity: Each CHICO hammock is individually woven. And that leads us to the next point: Hammocks from our house have no seams. The reason? Seams are usually weak points - and that's why we avoid them. With a little care, our CHICO hammocks and hammock chairs have a lifespan of 20 years. Or in other words: CHICO hammocks are not only high quality, but also durable and sustainable.

4.    Quality: Another important piece of the mosaic in what we consider to be the perfect mix of regionality and handcraft is the careful selection of materials. Our operations manager examines the wood himself in advance and convinces himself of its quality. But the yarns also have to fit, after all, a single cord of a hammock is able to support the weight of an entire person.

5.    Security: And another subtlety characterizes our hammocks: They are stretched in such a way that, despite the spreader bar, there is a deepening in the middle of the fabric. This trough prevents the infamous falling out that you often hear in connection with other manufacturers' products.

6.    Spare Parts: Our products are characterized by high quality - but it can still happen, especially after intensive use over many years, that individual components need to be replaced. The good news: Our spare parts can still be purchased even after many years.

7.    Accesories: In order to perfect the hammock experience, we have expanded our range with a range of accessories - including folding hammock frames that take into account the current trend for more mobility.

8.    Individualization: We not only offer standard designs, but if desired, every customer can have us create a unique item - for example in their desired colors.
